Vintage Hand-Painted Porcelain Scottie Dog Figurine, Made in Japan

This vintage Scottie dog is hand painted porcelain, sitting at attention with perky ears, bushy brown brows, a whiskered muzzle, and a bright red collar. Scottie figurines like this were hugely popular in the 1930s and 40s, and small Japanese-made pieces were a staple of dime stores and curio shelves during that era.

He has a glossy white glaze with painted details on his ears, paws, and little striped tail. The base is stamped "JAPAN" in black.

Condition: Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age. Paint loss on the ears, nose, and muzzle, light rubbing to the collar, and a few small glaze flecks. The unglazed base shows age-related discoloration. No chips or cracks.

Dimensions: Approximately 1.5" tall
